Over-the-counter Drugs

Can be purchased legally in drugstores or supermarkets without a prescription; there may be warnings against driving while on this drug.

Narcotics

Have a strong depressant effect; overdoses have resulted in death.

Hallucinogens

Mind alerting drugs that change the way a person thinks, sees, and acts; may cause drivers to react to something that is not really there.

Stimulants

Speed up the central nervous system; can give a false feeling of well-being and make you think that you are super alert; may cause drivers to take foolish and life-threatening risks.

Synergism

The interaction of one drug with another to enhance the effect of one or both.

Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC)

The percentage of alcohol in a person's blood.

Prescription Drugs

Bought at a pharmacy or drugstore, but only with a prescription; may have warnings against driving while on this drug.

Depressants

Prescription drugs that slow down the central nervous system; slow down mental and physical condition.

Dynamic Vision

Visually interpreting something that is in motion.

Static Vision

Visually interpreting something that is not in motion.
