stopping distance depends on numerous factors, including

1. condition of brakes 2. condition and type of tires 3. speed you are traveling at 4. condition of roadway you are on 5. vehicle weight (heavier the car, more distance is needed to stop; remember to always factor in weight) 6. reaction time 7. weather

Seatbelts prevent the following

1. motorist/passenger from sliding on the seat during stop/turns 2. slow body down with vehicle 3. prevent motorist and passengers from being thrown from vehicle

a turn signal must be used at least

100 feet before turning and you must be in the proper lane; not like the idiot in the picture

when you are traveling at 40 MPH the stopping distance is

167 feet

An infant must be in a reclining, rear-facing infant when

20 pounds and 26 inches or less

when you are traveling at 60 mph the stopping distance is

343 feet

When a toddler can sit up easily without help the seat can face forward and be in the upright position and face forward when they weigh at least

40 pounds

A convertible car seat is used for an infant or a toddler of up to

40 pounds and 40 inches in height

for normal driving, hands should be at

9 and 3

right turn signal

Make a high five signal or make an L (confusing I know)

If found with ice or snow on the car (without dislodging from the car)

The fine may be $25 to $75 dollars just for being on the vehicle

never place a rear facing infant safety seat in the front seat of a vehicle that has

save lives. I had several patients that looked like this in the intensive care unit. They were the lucky ones since anyone in the car without a seatbelt went downstairs....to the morgue

to drive in reverse, your right hand and arm should be placed over the back of

the front passenger seat (it is hard with bucket seats)

In order to reduce blind spots, adjust the side mirror so you see

the tip of the drivers side front door handle

always use the proper signal when

turning, stopping, moving

the lap belt should be worn

under the abdomen and low across hips; follow the bruise under the abdomen which travels across the hips this is the right way to wear a seatbelt
