Connectives

Used to connect the major parts of your speech.

Noun

A person, place, or thing.

Prefix

A syllable added to the BEGINNING of a word which changes its meaning.

Suffix

A syllable added to the END of a word which changes it's meaning.

Adjective

A word that describes a noun.

Adverb

A word that describes a verb.

Pronoun

A word that takes place of a proper noun.

Verb

An action/doing word.

Article

Articles define whether a noun is general (indefinite) or specific (definite) : Only three: 'a', 'an' and 'the'. Ariane saw A cat. Ariane ate AN apple. Ariane listened to THE radio. THE is definite.

Preposition

Links a noun to another word. They show the relationship of a noun to another noun (at, by, in, to, from, with). E.G. The rabbit looked INSIDE the box.

Proper Noun

Names a particular person, place or thing and begins with a capital letter
