List the main topics, points, features, or events and briefly describe each one. ( This does not necessarily mean creating a traditional outline with Roman numerals, numbers, and letters.)

Explain

Make an idea clear. Show logically how a concept is developed. Give the reasons for an event.

Evaluate

Make judgments about accuracy, quality, or both. (similar to criticize)

Criticize

Make judgments about accuracy, quality, or both. Evaluate comparative worth. Criticism often involves analysis.

Contrast

Show differences. Set in opposition.

Relate

Show the connections between ideas or events. Provide a larger context for seeing the big picture.

Trace

Show the order of events or the progress of a subject or event.

Prove

Support with facts, examples, and quotations from credible sources ( especially those presented in class or in the text).

List

Write a series of concise statements (similar to enumerate)
