Device Drivers
Utility software used by the operating system to communicate with peripheral devices. not updating ones drivers can cause computer malfunction, slowness, and problems in detection To update a driver one must - click settings - select updates and security, then click check for updates.
Print Queue
A window that shows information about documents that are waiting to print. (this can tell you if the job is paused, this can also resume and cancel jobs) It also can say if a paper is jammed and you can set different printers to default
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) a Windows error that occurs in kernel mode, is displayed against a blue screen, and causes the system to halt.
Solution: The error might be caused by problems with devices, drivers or a corrupted Windows installation. The pc may also automatically restart itself after an error log (crash dump) in that case go to advanced system settings and turn off automatic restart. A quick reboot should be enough to solve the problem, as well as reading the stop code also called the stop error, while also scanning the QR code (more modern bsod) on the screen to determine what is needed -shut down pc -disconnect all usb attached devices - uninstall recently installed software - Restart the pc
Computer is too slow
Solution: The user has too many windows or applications running at once which use too much memory you will have to assess the user's CPU ( Central processing unit) usage and see which files or unused programs have to be deleted. or check for malware or viruses
webcam isn't working
Solution: external webcam: unplug it and replug it, put it in a different USB port. integrated webcam: go to "device manager" (this handles all the devices on a computer which is in the control panel, it will tell you if you have an integrated camera or an external one. If something is wrong with the internal camera, it should show a yellow exclamation sign which means there is a problem with the driver, in that event one must enable reinstall and/or update the device driver. As well as checking permissions on the camera to see if its enabled USB (Universal serial box controllers)
Slow Internet
This can happen when a network extends over several buildings building, using multiple cloud-based services can also slow down the connection speed solution: this may require troubleshooting, check to see if there is a widespread power outage
uninstallng or reinstalling an application on Windows
go to "control panel" then go to "programs and features," from then you should be able to repair, uninstall, or reinstall an application.
Printing problems
solution: Makes sure the printer is turned on (and determine if it is a network computer.) -they may need to add a specific network printer in their setting - they can also try connecting to the printer via USB rather than by network -check the printer queue to see what the specific problem is
Password Problems They can't log in
solution: They could have left caps locks on, some companies set up authentication portals, check to see if the password is expired or if the account is suspended to inactivity send the employee a reset link
