Can a student who has not satisfied Writing I prior to start of spring quarter still enroll in the 3rd quarter of the GE cluster? What credit is given?

Yes they can and they will get credit for two GEs (D- or better or pass); however, they will not get credit for the Writing II portion unless they take English Comp 3 at the same time and get mandatory grade C or better

If a student is taking a UCLA Summer Session course to complete IGETC, how does the grade impact the transcript?

assuming the student has partial IGETC and is fulfilling it at UCLA, the classes come in with grade credit and will go towards the GPA
