number that is a factor of two different numbers. Numbers have in common. factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 factors of 16 are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 Common factors of 12 and 16 are 1, 2, 4. Greatest common factor is 4

Prime Factorization:

number written as a product of prime numbers. example 8 = 2 x 2 x 2

Factor:

numbers you can multiply together to get another number.

Product:

the answer you get when two or more numbers are multiplied together.

Prime Number:
