Freddie Gray was a 25-year-old young man who was killed because of neglect to medical treatment during his arrest. Freddie had had a switchblade in his pocket, but the police were unable to see that until he had been detained, meaning that that wasn't the reason they arrested him. Freddie was arrested because he fled from the poilce one he made eye contact with one of them. The police went after him because he was simply running but did not witness him doing anything illegal. This connects with his skin color as well. I strongly believe that the main reason they decided to run after him, was because he was African American. Many of the first responders that survived 9/11 developed cancer. About 2,000 have died from 9/11 related illnesses. For example, at an airport, a security member may stop someone who looks afghani. Immediate responses to 9/11 included greater focus on home life and time spent with family, higher church attendance, and increased expressions of patriotism such as the flying of American flags.
