How and when did the civil war start?
April 12, 1861. The south attacked Fort Sumter, is the beginning to the battle.
What was a regular civil war soldier like?
Are between 18-30 of age, a lot used to be farmers, most born in the USA, were excited to have experience with war, and were traveling the first time.
How did black soldiers aid the war effort?
They showed Great participation on the battlefield, and wore their uniform with pride.
Why did so many people volunteer to fight in the Civil war?
To escape the boredom of working in a factory or farm, to interact more with friends and neighbors, the recruitment money offered by both sides, and because some soldiers were loyal to their state or country.

What advantages did the North have at the beginning of the civil war?
When the South was seceding, people rushed to enlist in the North to be on their side for the war. (More people on their side because of the South seceding) And had a lot of rail roads, ships, factories, and Abe Lincoln was agreeing with the North for ending slavery.

Encipation Proclamation deals with freeing slaves in the Confedercy. The 13th amendment was used to show congress that slavery is unconstitutional. Both acts were done by Abe Lincoln.

He had a goal of finding the enemies. He captured two confederate river forts. The forts were "Henery" and "Donelson".

The North had an Anaconda Plan, which is to hack the South economy. The South had king cotton, they got foreign support.
Why did so many soldiers become sick with diseases?
The camps were dirty and so were the soldiers, they went weeks without bathing, a lot of stuff was full of lice and flees. (LOTS OF GERMS caused the sicknesses)
