Genocide
deliberate extermination of a racial or cultural group Ex: The killing of Jews in the Holocaust
Ethnicity
identity in a group of people bound by common ancestry and culture. Ex: My family is from England, so I am of an English ethnicity.
Religious Fundamentalism
religious movement whose objectives are to return to the foundations of the faith and to influence state policy Ex: Missionaries that go places to spread their religion
Balkanized
small area, unstable state, antagonism between ethnicities. Ex: Japanese work camps during WWII

Process by which a state breaks down through conflicts among its ethnicities Ex:The Japanese being sent Work camps in the U.S. during WWII
Blockbusting
The illegal practice of trying to lower property values. Ex: When an African-American person moves into a house near a white person, Realtors try toget them to move.
Ethnic Cleansing
The removal or extermination of a certain ethnic group. Ex: Jews being sent to Concentration Camps in Nazi Germany during WWII
