Interview Questions
Tell Us About a Situation Where You Took Initiative or Took on a Leadership Role
During one of our projects at school, I was grouped with members that has a different specialization than mine. And that while we were working on the project I realized that my groupmates has no experience with a particular programming language that I'm familiar with, so I took the initiative to lead them. Moreover, I tried to help them with their task and regularly ask if they have questions or clarifications to ensure that we are on the same page. In that way we were able to do the task accurately and do well.
What is your strength and weaknesses?
First my weakness is that I sometimes spend too much time on details, which can slow me down when trying to get things completed quickly. This weakness is born out of simply wanting to do a perfect job, but I am learning to get things finished faster whilst still maintaining high standards. For my strengths, based on my school ethics and also as an individual person, I am very well organized, and I can plan my work accordingly. I don't just meet deadlines but prefer to complete the projects well ahead of schedule. With this I was able to do well in multiple school projects with same deadlines.
How do you handle stress and pressure?
I actually work better under pressure; it helps me motivated enough to get the task done and be productive. Although I admit that I do get stressed out especially during numerous projects that are due at the same week. But, in order to prevent this, I create a schedule for each project and tried to break them down at smaller task to get it easier to be done. With this, I could manage to complete all projects before the deadline and avoid unnecessary stress.
How would you describe your work style?
I always ensure that I could manage to do my loads ahead of time. I could juggle multiple projects at once and could also work independently. Although during collaboration or teamwork, I do value the opinion of my groupmates, so I often consult with them to make sure that we are on the same track. With this open communication, it helps me complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
Describe your work ethic.
I am passionate and dedicated about the work that is given to me. I always see to it that I provide quality work even in a limited time. Just like for school works, there are times that the project or assignment were required to be done in a short time, I always see to it that I maximize my time in creating a competent work. I am also an enthusiastic and positive person, that whenever my groupmates were pessimistic with the task, I encourage them that we can do well and try to help them in every way possible to the task that they find difficult with.
Tell me about yourself?
I believe I am an enthusiastic person who genuinely wants to develop the necessary skills and qualities to have a successful career and future. I am genuinely a positive person as I want the people around me to be also happy. Although I'm easily affected with the things around me and get tensed easily especially if there are a lot of deadlines due at the same time. Thus, in these times I tried to be organized and do a planner to keep myself on track. I'm an avid reader, I like reading novels and watching movies. Furthermore, I am someone who understands that you must work hard to achieve what you want in life, and I feel that by undertaking this internship with your company, it will allow me to build the foundations necessary for a successful future career.

Moreover, I have ideas that I think will help this company reach its short term and long-term goals and I would love to have the opportunity to share them with your team.
Do you work well with other people?
I have been working on team projects for numerous times and it has developed my skills to communicate well with others and incase of conflict arising, I learned to mediate between team members. Like during my past project some of my team members could not reach an agreement about the project, so I tried to listen to their concerns and come up to a solution where everyone agrees. Because of this, we were able to do our task well and finish the project before the deadline.

Eventually, I'd like to work my way into higher positions as I gain more skills and experience.
What do you hope to get out of this internship?
Of course, hands-on experience is my number one goal. Aside from taking this internship as an opportunity to test out the skills I've acquired in classroom, I also want to gain experience and learn new skills through this internship. For my second goal, I aim to expand my connections through meeting other people. I hope that I could build professional connections with the people I will be working with and also gain career advise from them. Lastly, at the end of the internship I hope I'll be able to find out the best position that suit my interest in this field.
What is the most relevant experience that you had?
One notable challenge that I experienced and overcome was during class deadlines. Towards the end of the term, a lot of professors usually come up with projects which takes up a lot of time from the us students. In order to overcome those project deadlines, I usually create a schedule or plan which subject I must do first to keep myself organized and actually progress/complete the task as I noticed without proper planning, I tend to procrastinate more. Furthermore, if the project was announced early, I tried to start even just a bit of the project so that I would already have an edge and wouldn't cram at the end of the deadline.
