: Using Master Slides & Headers/Footers. Masters allow you to define a format and color scheme for the entire presentation. You can insert a graphic, a header or footer on the Master Slide and it will be automatically applied to every slide. There are masters for Slides, Title Slide, Handouts and Notes.

A slide master is the top slide in a hierarchy of slides that stores information about the theme and slide layouts of a presentation, including the background, color, fonts, effects, placeholder sizes, and positioning. Every presentation contains at least one slide master.

Action buttons are built-in button shapes you can add to a presentation and set to link to another slide, play a sound, or perform a similar action.

Slide layouts contain formatting, positioning, and placeholders for all of the content that appears on a slide.

Use action buttons to cue or launch an action in your presentation, such as go to the next or a specific slide, run a program or play a video clip. Pick an action button from the Shapes gallery, and then assign an action to occur when you click your mouse or when someone moves their mouse over the button.
