License renewal Requirements
Continuing Education Requirements for renewal or individual licenses
-minimum of 9 hours or GREC approved courses per year of four-year renewal period (total 36 hours); no exam required -effective July, 1, 2016, must complete at least 3 hours on license law during each renewal period -salesperson renewing first time may count 25 hour post-license course as 9 hours of continuing education, requiring additional 27 hours -inactive licensees must complete CE requirement prior to reactivating license -not required for those on US military duty or on general assembly while serving. If exemption option is taken for over 2 years of duty, must complete 25 hour post license course within 6 months of conclusion of duty -exemption to continuing education requirement: individuals actively licensed on January, 1, 1980 -College courses at accredited college or university of four quarter hours or two semester hours if: -counts toward obtaining major in real estate or courses dealing with principals, fundaments, or essentials of real estate -counts toward obtaining major in business administration, accounting, finance, or marketing -courses are in agency, real property law, and contract law -not college correspondence course or college continuing education courses -if CE is not completed, licensee cannot renew and license will lapse
Renewal Dates
-original license valid four years, expiring on last day of applicant's birth month -renewal every four years on last day of applicant's birth month

Broker must complete renewal form regarding status of broker's trust account(s) and any trust account(s) broker allows affiliated licensees to maintain
