Memory: what is memory?
Storage 2
-Hippocampus plays a role in memory storage -Memories are not stored in one particle part of the brain -Information can be stored for varying lengths of time (from moment to moment, about 20-30 seconds, or indefinitely
Encoding 2
-Not all information can enter into our memory system -The brain is constantly being bombard with sensory information -"lost" information isn't being forgotten, ti was never encoded in the first place
Retrieval 2
-When you successfully remember something that is retrival -Just because you stored some information in your memory doesn't mean you can retrieve that info But it does not mean that information is completely gone
Retrieval
The process of accessing information encoded and stored in your memory
