MITOCHONDRIA IS THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL
Nucleus
contains nearly all the cell's DNA and with it the coded instructions for making proteins and other important molecules.
Smooth ER
A more specialized form of the ER, lacking ribosomes on the outside and producing more specialized parts of the cell.
Rough ER
ER with ribosomes on the sides. Surrounds the Nucleus and produces large amounts of protein.
Golgi Apparatus
Packages, sorts and distributes materials for the cell.
Ribosomes
Small particles of RNA and protein found throughout the cytoplasm. Produce proteins by following coded instructions that come from the nucleus.
Mitochondria is...
THE POWERHOUSE OF THE CELL!!!!! (BREAKS DOWN NUTRIENTS AND CONVERTS THEM INTO ENERGY FOR THE REST OF THE CELL TO USE).
Nuclear Envelope
Two membranes that control what comes in and out of the nucleus.
Endoplasmic Reticulum
Where lipid components of the cell membrane are assembled, along with proteins and other materials that are exported from the cell.
