His birth name was Mikolaj Kopernik after his father but started calling him self Nicolaus Copernicus his Latin name.

His father was a wealthy merchant after his fathers death was raised by his mother and his mothers brother.

Nicaolaus' early job

His uncle forced him to move to Italy to study to be a canon and later in life became one and was supported then for all his studies.

Observation Information

In 1532 he had all the observation to identify earth's place in the solar system but didn't release it until 1543
