Do you think a college education is important to succeed in today's society?
A college education is certainly important to succeed in future goals and to have a reputation of following through with them. Degrees help represent the hard work one took to achieve their goals, and how much they're willing to sacrifice.
How do you define success?
I think success is working desperately not only achieve your goals, but to wake up each morning loving life, and who you are as a person. To me that's ultimate success.
What makes you blush?
I think what really makes me blush is messing up on something or doubting myself. Thinking I said the wrong thing.
• What makes you happy and what makes you sad?
What makes me happy is when I'm walking the halls of school, and i'm not quite having the best day and someone smiles at me or asks me how I'm doing, and I can feel myself becoming happy , and It's just a wonderful feeling. What makes me sad is knowing that there are people out their with no family, and no home.
Do you think young women who have had cosmetic surgery should be allowed to compete in competitions against candidates who haven't had surgery?
Yes I believe beauty is about confidence, and if that makes them confident then they should not be rejected to enter in the competition especially if it's more about who you are as a person rather than what you look like.
What do you want for your birthday this year?
it's my golden year I'm going to be turning 18 on May 18th, and all I want is to be able to go to California to visit my siblings that I haven't see in about 4 years now since I moved up here.
In what ways do beauty contests help the women?
A beauty pageant is a celebration of beauty. It is an act and a venue to acknowledge and give honour to the beauty God placed in us. It is also an effective means to campaign for social awareness of different social issues and problems that need our attention since the answers the candidates give serve as piece of good advice to the concerned public.
Is the cost of higher education in the United States too high?
College tuition has more than doubled since the 1980s leaving students in debt years after they graduate. In Washington the average student loan debt is 13 thousand . So in some instances I think it can be too high but with opportunities from scholarships like this program offers it can help alleviate those financial issues.
Why did you pick your platform?
Home for me symbolizes a place where you feel secure, safe and loved, and I want everyone to feel that way. If you award me the title of Miss Auburn the attention that comes with the crown will give me the opportunity to be a voice in other's lives specifically people without a home which speaks to my platform.
Only 20% of eligible voters under 25 vote, why do you believe that is?
I believe many young people don't vote because they don't know how. And to fix this ongoing problem I think schools should offer a class teaching the importance of voting, and the steps to take to vote.
What constitutes true beauty?
I believe true beauty is being confident and having a positive personality & outlook on life & a loving heart. There is nothing more beautiful than a woman being unapologetically herself comfortable in her perfect imperfection. Embracing her true self radiating a natural beauty that cannot be ignored.
Why did you join this pageant?
I joined this pageant to have a sense of achievement and fulfilment. Likewise, the excitement I may experience and memories I make here are beyond measure in worth for widening my social horizon and understanding of people.
What are your favorite things about where you live?
I love the scenery of Auburn it's such a lovely town & there's quite everything you need in one. At the oment my favorite places in Auburn is my church, the new ice skating rink, and Trotters- super friendly and I enjoy their home cooked meals- I love their chicken tenders
What do you think are "American values" and what makes them distinctly "American?"
I think American values or equality
If you had a choice between fame an fortune, which would you choose and why?
I think being famous outweighs being rich because having a voice in today's society holds much more weight in terms of helping drive change in today's world. it by itself can make you much more money by being you rather than the money you own.
What is the role of the Internet or social networking sites on the youth?
I think internet or social sites play no role other then what we want them to play. So it can do whatever we order it to do.
What is the greatest challenge that women face today?
I think the biggest challenge woman face today is leadership roles in business. Today, only 26 women are in CEO roles at 500 companies, making up 5.2% With women still pushing to reach the top, they are faced with a range of challenges. It is these issues that are preventing many women from achieving their goal of becoming a leader at their company and their ability to get ahead in business.
• What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in your life? What have you done to overcome it?
I think the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life is not putting myself out there. Having been to so many schools it was difficult making friends, because I would eventually leave. But once I came to Auburn I knew this is where I finally belonged, and now I have really close friends that mean the world to me.
How do you feel the media has portrayed our president? Do you agree?
I think the media has portrayed our president as entertaining and comical less serious more as a celebrity or character if you will, but on the other hand I think his personality portrays this other than the media which I would have to agree with.
What 3 main qualities do you think the perfect man should have?
I think the perfect man if there's such a thing should be faithful, dependable, and have a wicked sense of humor.
What quality do you possess that sets you apart from any other contestant?
I think what sets me apart is my ability to relate to my platform, and the ability to talk about it in a positive viewpoint encouraging others that their not alone, and they can rise up to the challenge and achieve their own goals. Especially if it's also going through the Miss Auburn program and gaining confidence and a sense of achievement.
If you could cure any disease what would it be, and why?
I would cure the leading cause of death worldwide which is cancer, because not only did my grandmother suffer from lung cancer but I lost her from it and millions of people are trying to fight it as well.
If you were stranded on a dessert island and could only have three things with you, what would they be and why?
I would have a hammock so I can be nice & cozy & a place to sleep. A flashlight because I'm afraid of the dark but only outside, and a signal mirror to try to get rescued.
If you were judging this competition, what characteristics would you look for when choosing the winner?
I would look for someone who is willing to put others before themselves. Someone who is genuinely authentic, and can relate to their social impact and will stop and nothing to achieve their goals
If you had to live your life all over again, what part of your life would you change?
I would not change a single thing in my life. I am me because of what I have been through. Changing any part of my life automatically changes what defines me as a person, and I would not want that to happen.
f you were given the chance to change something from the past, what would it be?
I would not change anything from the past. The society we live in and the person we are today are products of our past. The past is something to be cherished whether its sad memory or happy. It is full of lessons and insights that we use today to see what lies ahead. It is a part of history that must be respected and treated as a clue to success and progress.
What would you say to people who do not believe that competitions are a good influence on women?
I would say that a beauty pageant is not only a celebration of beauty God placed in us. It is also an effective means to campaign for social awareness of different social issues and problems that need our attention.
If you were to win tonight, what's the first thing you'd say if someone were to shoved a microphone in your hand?
I would thank everyone who believed in me & the judges & I would vow to fulfill my duties & do my very best to be a positive role model to the city of Auburn.

What is your life ambition? What is your career ambition?
My ambition is to be a positive role model, and to always try to be the person who always has a smile on their face even if it's a rainy day so my happiness can radiate to others. My career ambition is to get a Master of Education in Elementary education, and teach kids not only fundamental learning abilities, but to be the best version of themselves they can be.
If I were to visit your hometown for one day, what would we do and where would we go?
My hometown is in Bakersfield California & we would most likely go to the living museum, which is a zoo with lots of animals
What is your most vivid childhood memory?
My most vivid childhood memory is taking care of my grandmother when I was 10 she was diagnosed with lung cancer, and I would stay by her side whether it was in the hospital or lying in the bed with her. I remember she would always sing to me "the sun will come out tomorrow bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow"
Do you think that public news broadcasts like Fox should be allowed to push their political opinions so heavily on viewers?
No I don't think news channels should be allowed to push their political opinions on people I think all news channels should be very much unbiased with factual information so the viewer can form their own opinion upon the subject matter.
What social causes mean the most to you?
The most important social causes that mean the most to me obviously is homelessness, equality between men and woman, but besides that I think climate change and destruction of nature is a huge threat to today's society freshwater availability in the Americas has halved since the 1950s and that 42% of land species in Europe have declined in the past decade.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
The most influential person in my life is my mum. My mother is exactly who I want to be like in the future: kind, compassionate and a true epitome of a God-fearing woman. She is an inspiration and a blessing for me and for others who know her.
What is the single most important message a titleholder can convey?
The single most important message a titleholder can convey is to always stay true to yourself and to not put on a facade of whom you want to be but show this is who I am, and I'm not afraid to show that.
Name the three main things you feel participating in competitions teach the candidate
The three things i feel like competitions teach the candidate is confidence to feel beautiful inside and out, and to find their inner voice of this is who I am, and what I stand for.
What does being an American mean to you?
To me being an American citizen is being free. It means you treat your fellow Americans with respect. It means that you don't judge people because of their color, religion, or their beliefs. Being an American is being loyal to this Country and helping out in any which way you can.
What is femininity?
To me it's a label for the stereotypes of the behaviors commonly shown by and expected from females. So to say the least they are the qualities of being a female that one can choose to define for themselves what the meanings of these words are.
What do you hope to gain by entering this pageant?
Ultimately I hope to gain the ability to be a voice in other people's lives. I think having personal relationships and connections with others is key to making people feel valued. I also hope to gain confidence in myself, and growth in my experiences from this program and scholarships to reach my goals in my career.
How important is community service to you?
community service means so much. Having the ability to help others around you is the most gratifying experience. When I first moved to Auburn during the summer I spent every week at the foodbank until sophomore year. It was such an eye opener to see how much people in the community depended on the food bank to have the ability to provide food for their families.
If God should grant you one wish, what would it be?
if God will grant me a wish, I would ask that no one in this world should ever go hungry because of financial deprivation and social depression. I think it's awful that while the world is busy keeping up with luxury and innovation while people are homeless and starving
