What is the culture pattern approach to personality?

The culture pattern approach is a theory that suggests that individual personality reflects a lot from cultural practices, therefore suggesting that culture shapes our personality.

Psychologists have examined what makes people likely to carry out an action. What factors do cognitive-social theorists believe help predict whether someone will carry out a behavior or goal? Use an example to illustrate the expectations involved.

Developed from George Kelly's idea of personal constructs, psychologists found that whether a person carried out an action was often related to expectancies and their ability to perform the actions.

Do you think that personality is a result of genetics, learning, culture, or another factor? Why?

I believe personality is made up of all of these factors. Genetics make up our temperament, which is the basic disposition of traits. After this, our environment and learning will influence us and teach us based on our temperament. This is why everyone's personality is different

How would you describe your personality? How would you rate yourself on the Big Five Factors from the Five Factor Model?

I feel like I have a pretty well-rounded personality, with many positives, but a few flaws I need to work on here and there. I score highly in all five factors and I see myself as having most of the good traits from each factor.

Psychologists have examined whether personality remains consistent throughout our lives. Do you think that your personality is consistent, dependent on the situation, or inconsistent? Why? Do you think that the pattern in your personality is the same for other people?

I think personality does change throughout our lives. I have several friends who transitioned from being an introvert to an extrovert or vice versa. After traumatic or any life changing experiences, their worldview and attitude towards situations may change significantly enough to change parts of their personality.

Do you think that personality tests like the Rorschach or the Myers-Briggs tests are accurate in predicting or capturing personality? Why or why not? Have you taken a personality test? Do you think that the results were accurate?

Many sources and researches say that the Myers-Briggs personality test is a scam and does not accurately portray personality. However, I feel like the Myers-Briggs test is actually a very insightful and accurate method to measure personality on a basic level.

What is Freud's structural model? What are the parts of this model?

The structural model described a conflict of a person's desires and real world situation.

Describe the three parts of Freud's structural model. Use an example from your own life to illustrate how these three parts work. Do you think that Freud is right that we have these three parts of our personality in conflict with each other?

The three parts of Freud's structural model are id, ego, and superego. According to Freud, the combination of these three parts will create the complex behaviours of human beings.

List and define the three parts of Freud's topographic model.

The topographic model states that mental processes were made up of three parts: the conscious, preconscious, and unconscious.

What is the Five Factor Model? List the five factors.

The traits that constitute the five-factor model are extraversion, neuroticism, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness.
