Jordan River

A 251 km river in West Asia that flows roughly north to south through the Sea of Galilee and on to the Dead Sea. The river forms the nations of Jordan's boundary with the West Bank and northern Israel.

Hudson River

A 315 mile river that flows from north to south primarily through eastern New York in the US.

Seine

A 777 kilometer long river and an important commercial waterway withing the Paris Basin in the north of France, also being the second-longest river in France.

Rhine

A major watercourse of northwestern North American, with the source being in British Columbia, Canada and goes through the city of Yukon (its namesake).

Liffey River

A river in Ireland and flows through the center if Dublin.

Irtysh River

A river in Russia, China, and Kazakhstan. It is the chief tributary of the Ob River.

Oder

A river in central Europe, one of the largest to enter the Baltic. It rises in the Czech Republic and flows through western Poland, later forming part of the Poland-Germany border.

Paraná River

A river in south central South America running through Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina for about 4,880 km. It is the second in length amoung the South American rivers.

Okavango River

A river in southeast Africa, fourth longest river system in southern Africa, running southeastward for 1600 km, and it begins in Angola. It flows into the Kalahari desert and forms a massive inland swamp.

Gilo River

A river in southwestern Ethiopia.

Arno River

A river in the Tuscany region of Italy and is the most important river of central Italy after Tiber.

St. Lawrence River

A river in the northern US that drains the Great Lakes and serves as a waterway of eastern Canada, and was named by Jacques Cartier inn the early 16th century.

Potomac River

A river located along the mid-Atlantic coast of the US and flows into the Chesapeake Bay, forming the border between Virginia ad Maryland.

Blue Nile

A river originating at Lake Tana in Ethiopia. It is one of the two rivers (with the white Nile) being the major tributaries of the Nile.

Limpopo River

Ganges

A trans boundary river of Asia that flows through the countries of India and Bangladesh. It is the holiest river in Hinduism and forms the worlds largest delta with the Brahmaputra on the Bay of Bengal.

Lena River

Eastern most of the Great Siberian Rivers that flow to the Arctic Ocean, it is the 11th longest river in the world and has the 9th largest watershed, and is the third longest in Asia.

Danube

Europe's second longest river (after Volga) and the longest river in the European Union region, located in Central and Eastern Europe, and ending in the Black Sea. It was also known as Ister, and was often used to define a northern border for the Roman Empire.

Zambezi River

Fourth-longest river in Africa, and the longest east-flowing river in Africa and the largest flowing int the Indian Ocean.

Ural River

Known as the Yaik before 1775, is a river flowing through Russia and Kazakhstan in Eurasia, It originates in the southern Ural Mountains and ends at the Caspian Sea.

Orinoco

White Nile

One of the main tributaries of the Nile River, at a length 2,299 miles.

Brahmaputra

One of the major rivers of Asia cutting through the countries of China, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh. It also merges with the Ganges to form the world's largest delta.

Rhone

One of the major rivers of Europe and flowing directly into the Mediterranean, rising in Switzerland, passing through Lake Geneva and running through southeastern France.

Rio Grande

One of the principal rivers in the southwest US and Northern Mexico. Rises from south-central Colorado in the US and flows to the gulf of Mexico.

Colorado River

One of the principal rivers of the Southwestern US and Northern Mexico. The river drains an expansive, arid watershed that encompasses parts of seven US and two Mexican states.

Irrawaddy

River that flows from north to south through Myanmar (it being the chief river of the country), and is the countries largest river and most important commercial waterway. Its delta is one the world's most important rice-growing region and comes from the Sanskrit word for "elephant".

Mekong

The chief river of southeast Asia, being the worlds 7th longest river in Asia with a length of 4,350 km.

Mississippi River

The chief river of the largest drainage system in North America, second largest river in the USA, beginning at Lake Itasca and flows 2,340 miles to a large delta on the Gulf of Mexico, and making the world's third-largest drainage basin.

Lena River

The eastern most of the three great Siberian rivers that flows into the Arctic Ocean. It is the 11th longest river in the world and has the 9th largest watershed, and is the 3rd largest river in Asia. Also know as the Yakutsk River.

Tigris
