Comet
A small body of ice, rock, frozen gases, and cosmic dust loosely packed together that travel in elliptical orbits around the sun from the Kuiper Belt. AKA "Dirty snowballs": Thought to be made up of left-over material from the formation of the solar system.

What are spring and neap tides?
Spring tides occur when the sun and moon are directly in line with the earth and their gravitational pulls reinforce each other to make the highest tides. Neap tides occur when the sun, earth, and moon form a right angle and the sun's gravitational pull counteracts the moon's pull making a weaker high tide.
What causes tides to occur?
The gravitational pull of the moon
Who was the first person in space?
Yuri Gagarin
Ion tail
made up of electrically charged particles called ion mixed with water vapor
Dust tail
material that falls off comet from extreme melting of ice on the comet
Meteor
meteoroid that burns up in Earth's atmosphere leaving a streak in the sky
Meteorite
meteoroid that survives Earth's atmosphere, and reaches the surface.
Apollo 8's objective was to
orbited the Moon and returned to Earth
Asteroid
small metallic-rocky bodies made from Solar System leftovers trapped in a circular orbit between Mars and Jupiter called the Asteroid Belt. Range in size from several meters to 900 m in diameter.
Meteoroids
smaller metallic-rocky bodies, probably broken pieces of asteroids, that can enter Earth's atmosphere
