update

a collection of files for updating released software that fixes bugs or provides enhancements

service pack

a collection of updates, fixes, or enchancements to a software program deleivered as a single file

software development

a multistep process that usually begins when someone recognizes a need to perform a task more effectively and/or efficiently using a computer.

beta testing

a process that releases commerical software in development to a cross-section of typical users who evaluate the program and report any problems "bugs" in the software before it is released to the public.

software as a service (SaaS)

a recently developed software delivery method where an application is licensed for a use as a service.

algorithm

a set of clearly defined, logical steps that slove problems.

web applications

are with out platform constraints or installation requirements and are accessed through a web browser over a network such as intranet or the internet.

network license

gives the organization the right to install a program on a server which can be accessed by a specific number of computers

software license

gives you permission to use the software.

single-user license

gives you the right to install the software on a single computer

application software

helps you perform a specific task.

provides an interface between the user or application program and the computer hardware.

refers to the operating system and all utility programs that manage computer system software.
