Helps prevent disease. They are named for letters of the alphabet. Your body can not make this nutrient you need to get them in the foods you eat.

Helps you grow and keeps you healthy. Examples: Calcium, Phosphorus, Iron, and _________________ help regulate body processes.

Nutrients that are made naturally in the body. They can also be absorbed through certain foods.
Fat
This nutrient supplies the most energy, protects vital organs and adds flavor to meals. It is stored in the body around muscles bones, and organs.
Protein
This nutrient's function is to build and repairing the body. Examples: meat, eggs, fish, peanut butter

a chemical substance that an organism requires to live. Or any substance in food that the body needs.

a unit of heat; a measure of the energy in food

a waxy substance found in human tissues
Obesity
condition of having excess body fat resulting in being greatly overweight
