- Responsible for judicial security - There are currently more that 3900 deputy marshals (sworn officers) throughout the U.S. --Federal courts --Judges --Attorneys --Jurors - Fugitive investigation - Fugitives facing federal charges - Arrested more than 35,000 federal fugitives in 2005 - 5600 total employees - 3,900 deputy marshals (sworn officers) - 200 offices in U.S. and abroad - Tactical team (Special Operations Group) - Witness protection program - Responsible for housing federal detainees until acquittal or conviction - Asset forfeiture
