Isaiah 66:23

" 'It shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,' says the Lord" This is speaking of worship in eternity, but God specifically mentions the Sabbath and coming together for worship in this passage.

Jesus Example

"So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read" (Luke 4:16).

Genesis 2:2

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Exodus 20:11 and Ezekiel 20:12

God designed the Sabbath for two main reasons: to commemorate creation and as a sign of our salvation. "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy" (Exodus 20:11). "I gave them my Sabbaths as a sign between us, so they would know that I the Lord made them holy" (Ezekiel 20:12).

The seventh day of he week

Means "rest" in Hebrew, en ruso "Subbata", en arabe "As-Sabt.", en portugues" Sabado."

The Fourth Commandment

The Lord has given the Sabbath day for our benefit and has commanded us to keep it holy. Observing the Sabbath day will bring us closer to the Lord and to our families. It will give us an eternal perspective and spiritual strength. The Sabbath also allows us to rest from our physical labors and worship the Lord.

Roman Papacy

The Sunday law was officially confirmed in The Council of Laodicea in A.D. 364 decreed, "Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday but shall work on that day; but the Lord's day they shall especially honour, and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If, however, they are found Judaizing, they shall be shut out from Christ" (Strand, op. cit., citing Charles J. Hefele, A History of the Councils of the Church, 2 [Edinburgh, 1876] 316).

Emperor Constantine I

a pagan sun-worshipper—came to power in A.D. 313, he legalized Christianity and made the first Sunday-keeping law. His infamous Sunday enforcement law of March 7, A.D. 321, reads as follows: "On the venerable Day of the Sun let the magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed." (Codex Justinianus 3.12.3, trans. Philip Schaff, History of the Christian Church, 5th ed. (New York, 1902), 3:380, note 1.)

The purpose of the law

its not possible to be saved by observing the law. the .law only works as an incentive to push us follow Jesus

The Word of God (Mark 2:28; Luke 4:16)

makes it expressly clear that Sabbath observance is a special sign or "mark" between God and His people. There is also no uncertainty that Christ, His disciples, and the first-century Christians kept the seventh-day Sabbath as commanded—the day we now call "Saturday" .

Law

the system of rules that a particular country or community recognizes as regulating the actions of its members and may enforce by the imposition of penalties
