reef knot (square knot)
used to connect two ropes which are equal in width and to secure goods, shoelaces, and end of first aid tape
cow hitch (lark's head hitch)
used to hang an object on a horizontal beam, hand a swing, pull and suspend bundles of firewood, building a flagstaff, tie elastic
taut line hitch (double half hitch)
used to increase or decrease tautness on a tent
trucker's hitch
used to increase or decrease the amount of rope, to set up tent, and clamping force
sheet bend (weaver's hitch)
used to join two ropes when setting up a tent or woven net
timber hitch
used to restrain pegs and nuts, drag wood, to tie a hammock , and a clothesline
noose knot
used to secure animals, anchor a line, and to set up a tent
granny knot
used to secure goods and make a barbed fence

bowline knot
makes a fixed circle at the top of the rope, used to pull people in and as a safety knot as a climbing line
