What were the long-term effects of imperialism on the colonized people.

Imperialism developed government and economy in underdeveloped colonies, however this growth came at the expense of many native cultures in ways of life. Some of the advantages included new roads and ways of new transportation as well as medicine and sanitation. Some of the disadvantages were that native people worked for very low wages and were not able to use some of the systems put in place.

How did Western nations come to dominated much of the world in the late 1800's.

Most Western nations in Europe, had plenty of money, strong governments, and good armies. While Eastern civilizations were losing their powers in the 1800's. This made them vulnerable to invasion

Why was Social Darwinism important to the new imperialism.

Social Darwinism was used to justify the expansion of European countries into less developed nations. The reasoning was that more successful countries were that way for a reason which helped to make sense of them conquering other nations.

How did the industrial revolution lead to the new imperialism.

The industrial revolution provided funding for wealthier European nations to expand their territories. They also searched for places rich with the materials they needed for their businesses and for new market places for their goods.
