Labeling

All unlabeled forms should be labeled using form DD 2522

HAZMAT

Any material that may pose a substantial hazard to human health, property, or the environment when treated, handled, used, packaged, stored, transported, or disposed.

Supervisors

Are required to provide more training in SDS understanding and use

Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (OSHA)

Hazardous Cleaners

Detergent (general purpose), EXPO cleaner, Simple Green, Floor Polish Remover, Floor Wax, Snapback spray buff liquid.

Head, eye/face, Respiratory, Body protection, Hand/arm, Foot protection

Liquid Oxygen, Rocket Engines, lass A combustibles, Ordnance, Pyrotechnics, wheels and brakes, Magnesium, Fire Extinguishing agents.

Safety Data Sheet (SDS)

Manufacturers provide information for all HAZMAT they produce, and must make an SDS available to the users of each material They contain General info, ingredients, characteristics, hazard info, reactivity data, precautions for handling, control measures, transportation data, disposal data

Hazard Communication Standard (HCS)

in 1984 added to OSHA, requires containers be labeled to identify -Chemicals they have -Hazards they present -Name and address of the manufacturer
