Physical Standards - All Classes: Labs

1.) ANNUALLY -HIV 2.) INITIAL, EVERY FIVE YEARS or WR -HCT: M 40-52%; F 37-47% -HgB: M >13g/dL; F 12g/dL -Cholesterol: no standard ^HDL, LDL, Triglycerides -Fasting Glucose -RPR -UA: neg for blood, protein, and glucose by dipstick

Class I Physical Standards: Phorias

6.0 or Less ESO 6.0 or Less EXO 1.5 or Less HYPER

Class I Physical Standards: Blood Tests

Annually: HIV Every 5 Years: HCT, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Triglycerides, Fasting Blood Sugar, RPR

Class I Physical Standards: Urine

EVERY 5 YEARS: Occult Blood, Protein, and Glucose by Dipstick

Class I Physical Standards: IOP

Class I - Medical Service Group 3

-Aviators restricted to operating aircraft equipped w/ DUAL CONTROLS (Helo, P3, KC-130) -Accompanied on all flights by a pilot of copilot of Medical Service Group 1 or 2, qualified in model of aircraft operated -Separate request is required to act as pilot-in-command of multi-piloted aircraft

Class II Aviators

-DIF: Duty Involving Flight -Not in control of aircraft but perform functions vital to mission -Personnel match Class II

Class I Physical Standards: Audio

-Frequency: 500 Hz, 1000 Hz, 2000 Hz -Better Ear: 35DB, 30DB, 30DB -Worse Ear: 35DB, 30DB, 50DB

Class III Aviators

-Involve flight but do not actually fly

Class III Aviators: NVG (AT/PR)

-NVG Maintainers (ATs/PRs) ^No green color deficient

Class IV Aviators

-Personnel operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems -UAS Groups 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 -Standards = SNA Standards, but no limit for DVA/NVA -Reading Aloud Test

UAS/Designated Class I & II Aviators

-Personnel that operate UAS aircraft who also have and continue to maintain a Class I (Pilot) or Class II (NFO, Aircrew) designation must follow physical qualification and submission requirements for their Class I or II physical if intended to be maintained. -NAMI submissions must be for the Class I or Class II physical with clear notation regarding additional UAS Operator duties. -The UAS Physical Worksheet must be uploaded to the associated AERO electronic physical and aeromedical summary.

Class III Aviators: Flight Deck/Flight Line Personnel !!Critical!!

-Physical Complete on NAVMED 6410/14, Flight Deck Physical -CORR 20/20 Vision -Full field of vision -Depth Perception -Color Vision

Class III Aviators: Flight Deck/Flight Line Personnel !!Non-Critical!!

-Physical complete on NAVMED 6410/14 Flight Deck Physical -VA can be 20/40 worse eye, 20/30 better eye -No contact lenses worn by flight deck personnel ever -Waivers of Flight Deck Standards can be approved by CO and SMO

What conditions are NOT considered disqualifying?

-See ARWG 1.14 Class III Personnel Non-Disqualifying Conditions -Listed within AVT Text Book ((alright slides, I see what you did there))

UAS Groups 3, 4, 5

-require a complete Class IV flight physical w/ submission to NAMI as required -Waiver requests must be electronically submitted to NAMI and local waiver approval is not authorized. UAS Physical Worksheet is to be completed/uploaded w/ electronic submission to NAMI -applicant physical must be electronically submitted to NAMI as a long-form w/ an Aeromedical Summary when required for waiver requests -UAS group 3, 4, 5 designated physicals can be SUBMITTED TO NAMI as electronic short form physicals in accordance w/ MANMED

UAS Groups 1 and 2

-require a medical screening exam maintained locally -applicant/designated qualification exam can be completed locally by a qualified medical provider -UAS Physical Worksheet must be completed locally, maintained locally, and uploaded into DoD Electronic Health Record -Disqualifying conditions must be documented. Waiver consideration/approval is accomplished by LOCAL COMMAND and documented

1.) Ensure most qualified personnel are accepted 2.) Determine whether the individual is physically qualified/aernautically adapted for flight

Class II - Technical Observers

1.) NFS: Naval Flight Surgeons 2.) AP: Aerospace Physiologists 3.) NEP: Aerospace Experimental Psychologists 4.) NAO: Naval Aerospace optometrists 5.) NAC: Naval Aircrew Members
