Superior

Above or at a higher level. Towards the head when refereeing to the human body

Lateral

Away from the middle

Inferior

Below or at a lower level. Towards the feet when referring to the human body

Anatomical position

It is used to describe the relation of the body parts to one another. Anatomical position is further defined as an erect body with the face forward, arms to the side, and the palms facing forward.

Cephalic

Same as cranial. Pertains to the brain of in or related to the head.

Dorsal

The back equivalent to posterior whew referring to the human body

Posterior

The back or behind furthest to the back

Ventral

The belly side e equivalent to anterior it abdomen when referring to human body

Anterior

The front or before nearest to the front

Cranial

Toward the head. Also pertaining to the cranium or bones of the skull.

Proximal

Towards the attached base, towards the center of the body or point of attachment.

Middle

Towards the middle or midline

Caudal

Towards the tail or the coccyx in humans
