As they get access to his place for their affairs, Chuck gets the key to his aspirations—and a rung (though a lowly one) on the corporate ladder. But Chuck becomes more than a little conflicted when he learns that Fran Kubelik, the object of his affection, is the mistress of his boss, the man who holds the key to both Chuck's flat and his future.

Promises, Promises

Loosely based on Puccini's opera La Boheme, Rent tells the story of a group of impoverished friends struggling to survive and create in New York's gritty Alphabet City in 1991. Over the course of one year, this show follows these starving artists as they strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obstacles of poverty, illness, impending gentrification and the AIDS epidemic. A rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson,[1] loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La Bohème.

RENT

repetition of a song sung earlier in a musical. In Annie, "Tomorrow" is reprised twice. In Mack & Mabel, "I Won't Send Roses" is sung by Robert Preston and then, with different lyrics, by Bernadette Peters; Peters's version is considered a reprise. Although some shows just reprise a song because it's a hit song, a reprise done intelligently can change the meaning of the lyrics. For example, in Nine, "Not Since Chaplin" is first sung by adoring fans as a straightforward way to praise film director Guido Contini's importance. Much later, with his world collapsing around him, Contini bitterly reprises the opening words of the song, turning them into irony.

Reprise

It's the tail end of the big, bad 1980s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strips last legendary venues, a place where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily clad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into reality. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherri, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock and roll fairy-tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherri and the gang save the strip-and themselves-before it's too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and more hold the answer.

Seussical

Set in a mythical "once upon a time" sort of land, This show is the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. So Shrek strikes a deal: I'll get your homes back, if you give me my home back! But when Shrek and Farquaad meet, the Lord strikes a deal of his own: He'll give the fairy-tale characters their homes back, if Shrek rescues Princess Fiona. Shrek obliges, yet finds something appealing-something strange and different-about this pretty princess. He likes her. A lot. But why does she always run off when the sun sets?
