How did the lives of knights and nobles demonstrate the importance of warfare in the Middle Ages?
Lords constantly fought each other for land and power .so MAny nobles trained to be knights from a young age. They learned to ride and fight and use equipment.
How did the economic system of manorialism work? How did it affect peasants and nobles?
Mutual rights and obligations tied the peasant and their Lords together. Most peasants were bound to the land as serfs. They couldn't leave without permission. Peasants worked the land for the Lords protection.
What did noblewomen contribute to medieval warrior society?
Noblewomen took over the husband's duties when he was away at war. She also brought inherited land into the marriage. Men liked to marry women who already owned property so it could be theirs.
Why did feudalism develop as a political and social system?
People needed protection from invaders since the Roman Empire had fallen. Lords ruled the peasants.
Why was the revival of trade so important?
Trade spurred the growth of towns and spread culture and ideas. It also brought in money which undermined or ruined the feudal manor systems. Peasants could work elsewhere and didn't need the Lord for protection and bad pay.
Why do you think peasants died so young?
Disease and poor nutrition and poor sanitation.
