40 SID, T7 and between MCP and MSP

LAO (left anterior oblique) is the same as?

RPO (Right posterior oblique)

1/2 way between the xyphoid tip and the inferior rib margin, expiration, 40 SID

Oblique Sternum Considerations are?

15 degrees, pull arm back from shoulder, 40 SID to offset the spine

Ribs routine are?

AP or PA projection, unilateral or bilateral study, obliques

What two things are at T5?

Carina and Sternal angle

What is the anatomy of a rib?

Head, neck, tubercle, angle, shaft, and sternal end

RAO (right anterior oblique) is also the same as?

LPO (Left posterior oblique)

Lateral Sternum considerations are?

SID 72, Thrust the sternum forward, collimation, hold breath

Anterior Oblique...what side is of interest?

The side away from the IR

Posterior Oblique...the side of interest is?

The side closest to the IR

PA sternoclavicular joints

•Erect or prone •SID: minimum 40" •Digital kV range: 75-85 •Part position: True PA •Patient prone, chin resting on radiolucent sponge, arms up beside head or down by side. •CR: level of T2-T3 •(3" distal to vertebra prominens) •Respiration: Suspend after full expiration
