Word Wrap
A feature that automatically advances text to the next line without pressing the Enter key
Section
A portion of a document that can have different formatting from the rest of the document. The document can be divided into multiple sections.
Select text
A software feature that allows the user to highlight, or select, any word or the entire text in a document for editing
Clipboard
A temporary storage area in your computer's memory where data that has been cut or copied is stored until it is pasted in a new location.
Text

Enter command
In word prossessing, this creates a new paragraph.
Copy and Drag
Moving a sentence from one part of a document to another part.
Undo Command
Reverses the effects of the last action. Found in the Edit menu. The Undo button on the toolbar can be used instead of the command.
Paste
The command used to relocate data from the clipboard to a location on the worksheet.
Word processing
The rapid and efficient processing (storage and printing) of linguistic data for composition and editing. The use of a computer and software to enter and edit text and produce documents such as letters, memos, forms, calenders, labels and reports. The most commonly used software.
Cut text
To completely remove words or sentences from a document.
Formatting
You can change the documents appearance including changing the font, color, strikethrough, or shadow.
Insertion point
a blinking vertical line that shows where text will appear when you begin typing
Copy and Paste
a feature that allows a user to select text or a graphic, duplicate it and place it in another location within a document.
Auto correct
a feature used to automate the correction of common typing errors. does not correct grammar errors.
Font
a specific size, weight, and style applied to a character (letter, number, symbol). One point equals one seventy second of an inch.
File Extension
a string of characters beginning with a period and followed by one to four letters after the file name.
Cut and Copy
a tool found in the edit menu used in paragraph formatting to remove text or images..
Margins
blank spaces between the edge of the paper and the printed text
Delete and Backspace keys
deleting text and characters to the left of the insertion point
Copy Text
leaves original and makes an exact duplicate of it.
Editing
revising, reorganizing, proofreading, arranging, changing, and correcting existing text
Scrolling
the ability to move from one side of the screen to another, top to bottom, or page by page through a document using the mouse, keyboard or scroll bars.
