Which are the hormones responsible for secondary sex characteristics?
The Leydig cells produce testosterone, which also is responsible for the secondary sexual characteristics of males. In females, FSH and LH cause estrogen and progesterone to be produced.
FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone)
a hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary gland that promotes the formation of ova or sperm.

Testosterone
a steroid hormone that stimulates development of male secondary sexual characteristics, produced mainly in the testes, but also in the ovaries and adrenal cortex.
meiosis
cell division resulting in 4 daughter cells each w/half the chromosomes of the parent cells *occurs mostly in the gonads
