Twitter Feed

Hashtag
a word or phrase preceded by a hash sign (#), used on social media sites such as (but not limited to) Twitter to identify/classify messages on a specific topic; hashtag use is public and cannot be limited for any user
Trending Topics
popular topics on Twitter at any given moment displayed on the left side bar of a user's Twitter feed, usually defined by the popularity/use of a hashtag phrase
Direct Messages (DM)
private messages sent from one Twitter user to another Twitter user. Direct Messages are not publicly viewable on the Twitter feed of the sender or recipient(s), but as we know, screenshots can capture this private conversations and can be posted publicly.

TinyURL is one of many URL shortening web services, which provides short aliases for redirection of long URLs. This service makes it easier to include URLs as part of a tweet.

Registered users of Twitter can read and post tweets, but unregistered users can only read them. Users access Twitter through the website interface, SMS or mobile device app.
