The battle of Lexington happened first when the British soldiers were on their way seize and destroy military supplies of the Patriots in Concord. The first shot at Lexington was known as, "the shot heard around the world." Minutemen clashed with British troops at the Battle of Lexington. The British soldiers killed eight and wounded nine of the minutemen. One British soldier was wounded during the war. Then the British soldiers marched to Concord. Next, the battle of Concord happened where the British had suffered heavy losses.

The effect was a lot of protests from the colonists and it united the colonists to take actions against the British.

The protests against the Stamp Act resulted in the British Parliament repealing the Act in 1766. When the Townshend Acts imposing tariff on imported goods from Britain were passed by the British Parliament, the colonists started to boycott or refused to buy goods.
