You walk into the kitchen and noticed the task wasn't completed so you instantly become upset and you express this feeling to them. They greet you with enthusiasm but they authorize know that you are unhappy. While carrying on a conversation with them, you have your arms crossed, you fail to make eye contact or when you do your eyebrows are squished together, when you speak your tone is deep and the volume of your voice is higher than normal.

The process of listening is intricate and involves much more than just our ears. We rely on our ears, minds, and hearts to listen effectively. The first step in the listening process is to decide to be mindful, which entails being entirely present in the moment. Hearing, or actually receiving messages, is the second step in listening.
