Difference between extensions and apps
Another major difference between Chrome extensions and web apps is the fact that while extensions are used to enhance the functionality of the Chrome Browser, web apps run within the browser having a different user interface. Unlike web applications, extensions have little or sometimes no UI component.
Create a bookmark for Chrome
In the Omnibox (where you type in the link), to the right of the URL is a star, Click on the star bookmark menu opens
Advantages to signing to Chrome
When signed into Chrome, browsing history, settings and data, apps, etc. are saved to your Google account. Changes are synced.

Install and remove apps & extensions
to install an app, visit the Chrome Store, click add to Chrome. In a new tab, open chrome://apps, right click the app and select remove from Chrome, click remove
