Temporary Headmistress when Dumbledore was sacked in Chamber of Secrets. Temporary Headmistress after Dumbledore's death in Half-Blood Prince. Revealed to be the Headmistress in Cursed Child.

Neville Longbottom

a pure-blood Gryffindor student in Harry's year, described as round-faced and "short and plump and blond". Throughout the series, he is often portrayed as a bumbling, disorganised character and a rather mediocre student, though he is highly gifted at Herbology.

Voldemort a.k.a Tom Riddle

an evil Dark lord who wishes to kill Harry. He has many minions, called Death Eaters.

Quidditch

an game in which players fly on broomsticks, very popular at Hogwarts. It involves seven players: a Seeker, two Beaters, three Chasers, and a Keeper. The Seeker's job is to catch the Snitch, which is worth one hundred and fifty points. The Chasers' job is to possess the Quaffle and get past the other teams' Keeper and score in one of the three goals. There are also two balls called Bludgers that fly around and try to knock people off their brooms. Harry used to ride a Nimbus Two Thousand while playing Seeker, but now has a Firebolt, an international standard broom. Viktor Krum also rides a Firebolt, but he is an international player, and he plays for Bulgaria, and lost the last Quidditch World Cup.

Severus Snape

he Potions master from Harry's first to fifth years, head of Slytherin House from Harry's first to sixth years and Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (Harry's sixth year at Hogwarts). Snape serves as Headmaster in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, having been appointed by the Minister for Magic, Pius Thicknesse (who was controlled by Voldemort) until he is killed by Voldemort in the final chapters of the novel.

is the youngest of three sisters, her older sisters being Bellatrix Lestrange and Andromeda Tonks. She is a cousin of Sirius and Regulus Black and an aunt to Nymphadora Tonks, Andromeda's daughter.
