Can see both parathyroid (LU) and thyroid (RL). There are two cell types in the parathyroid gland, the main type is chief cells, and there are also oxyphil cells but less of them.

They are present in the adrenal medulla, they secrete catecholamines. They have a pale, somewhat basophilic cytoplasm and are arranged in clusters. Chromaffin cells are derived from neurons.

(also called C cells) These cells are in small clusters in the connective tissue between follicles or at the periphery of the follicular epithelium (but they do not contact the colloid). They stain very lightly, round, larger nucleus, and appear in clusters
