Football in its early years had many problems. The students ran the athletic events. They had people who were called ringers that could just be brought into play without even being a student. They had players playing for however mean years they wanted and they were paying players. All of these events led to the star of the IAAUS it was the intercollegiate athletic association of the united states and the rules applied to the first conference which was the Big 10. The first volunteer leaders was palmer perigee and he organized and invited people to the first convention. The first few riles of the IAAUS were you could only play for 3 years , you and to have a 2.0 to play, players and to be conditioned by the university, the coaches could not be professionals and the students no longer ran the athletic events. The IAAUS was eventually changed to the NCAA. without the beginning of the IAAUS rules for sports would probably not be the same today.

The national league started with 12 teams the louisville colonels being one of them. They then decided that they wanted to cut out 4 teams to make it 8 and Louisville was one of the teams bumped out. They also had the American league that had an original 8 teams. later on they both added two teams the national league brought in the Mets and the Houston actors and the american league brought in the angels and Washington senators.
