4 basic methods for making transformations

1. Clock transform tools - then click and drag anywhere on art board. 2. Double click the transform tool. 3.Click transform tool then click the art board. 4. Click transform tool - press alt the click art board.

Free Transform

Applies an eight handled bounding box to selected images.

Outline Stroke Command

Converts a stroked path into a closed path that is same width as the original stroked path.

Add To Shape Area

Converts two or more overlapping objects into a single merged object.

Offset Path Command

Creates a copy of a selected path set off by a specified distance.

Intersect Shape Area

Creates a single merged object from the area where two or more objects overlap.

Transform Panel

Displays information about the size, orientation and location of one or more selected objects.

Divide

Divides an object into its component filled faces.

Reflect

Flips the object across the axis - good for tracing symmetrical objects like a spoon.

Good for creating complex or irregular shapes from basic shapes.

Good for transforming multiple objects individually.

Shear Tool

Hidden behind scale tool - shears at an angle.

Clipping Mask

X and Y Coordinates

Indicate objects horizontal (x) and vertical (y) locations on art board.

Align Panel

Offers a quick and simple solution for aligning selected objects along the axis you specify.

Point of Origin

Place were all transformations are executed in relation to a fixed point.

Concentric

Refers to objects that share the same center point.

Transformation tools

Rotate, Scale, Reflect, Shear, and Free Transformation Tools.

Shear

Skews or distorts and object - good for depth.

Minus Back

The opposite of subtract: deletes the back most object from the front most object.

Compound Shape

Two or more paths that are combined in such a way that "holes" appear where ever paths overlaps.

Transformation

When you change an object's size, shape or position on the art board.

Subtract From Shape Area

Where objects overlap.
