why can plants form natural clones but animals cannot?
plants contain meristem tissue, which contains totipotent cells which are able to differentiate into different cell types. animal cells however are mostly differentiated, they contain some multipotent stem cells in the bone marrow but these are unable to differentiate into any cell type.
