I-beam pointer
Alternatively referred to as the I-cursor, the I-beam pointer is a mouse cursor shaped similar to the capital letter "I" that indicates that the text can be highlighted, inserted, or changed. In the picture is an example of how the I-cursor may appear.
Normal view
In Microsoft PowerPoint and OpenOffice Impress, the normal view is the typical view used for creating and viewing presentation slides. This view is also known as Slide View and offers a full size view of a slide, making it easier to create and edit slides.
File tab
In Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office products the File tab is a tab on the Office ribbon that gives you access to file functions. For example, from the File tab you can access the Open, Save, Close, Properties, and Recent file options.
ScreenTip
ScreenTips are small windows that display descriptive text when you rest the pointer on a command or control. Enhanced ScreenTips are larger windows that display more descriptive text than a ScreenTip and can have a link to a Help article.
Slide Sorter view
Slide Sorter view is a feature included in Microsoft PowerPoint software that allows the user to see all the slides in a presentation at one time. The slides appear in the task pane as small graphics that are arranged in rows and columns.
Reading view
Slide pane. In Normal view, the pane that displays a large image of the active slide is the reading view
Quick Access Toolbar
The Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that contains a set of commands that are independent of the tab that is currently displayed. You can move the Quick Access Toolbar from one of the two possible locations, and you can add buttons that represent commands to the Quick Access Toolbar.

text box
text box - Computer Definition. An on-screen rectangular frame into which you type text. Text boxes are used to add text in a drawing or paint program. The flexibility of the text box is determined by the software. Sometimes you can keep on typing and the box expands to meet your input.
