Periosteum (e)

A fibrous, vascular membrane that covers the cranial bone.

Dura Mater (g)

Space between the pia mater and the arachnoid, includes spongy connective tissue elements.

Longitudinal Fissure (n)

The deep groove that separates cerebral hemispheres.

Pia Mater (k)

The delicate innermost membrane enveloping the brain and spinal cord.

Falx Cerebri (r)

The double layer dura mater that is continuous all the way down the longitudinal fissure and separates the two cerebral hemispheres.

Meningeal Layer of Dura Mater (q)

The inner meningeal layer of the dura mater that is attached to the arachnoid membrane.

Arachnoid Membrane (i)

The middle layer of the three membranes (meninges) that surround the brain and spinal cord.

Periosteal Layer of Dura Mater (p)

The outer dura mater that is attached to the skull.

Subdural Space (h)

The space between the arachnoid and Dura mater layers of the meninges.
