Values are abstract ideals that guide our thinking and behavior across all situations
a. organizational commitment
a force that binds an individual to a course of action of relevance to one or more targets
Describe the concept of cognitive dissonance and how it can be reduced.
a. Is a psychological discomfort a person experiences when simultaneously holding 2 or more conflicting cognitions (ideals, beliefs, values, emotions). b. It can be reduced by: Changing your attitude or behavior or both, belittle the importance if the inconsistent behavior, find consonant elements that outweigh dissonant ones
Describe Ajzen's Theory of Planned Behavior.
a. Is a theory about INTENTIONS being the key link between attitudes and planned behavior
List the main causes of job satisfaction.
a. Need fulfillment b. Met expectations c. Value attainment d. Equity e. Dispositional/ genetic components
Describe the relationships between job satisfaction and motivation
i. A psychological process that arouses our interest in doing something, and it directs and guides our behavior
