Rhythm

Plot Development
All five areas of the plot are present and are clearly developed.
Illustrations
Help present the plot throughout all areas of the work. Are neat and visually pleasing throughout the entire work.
Theme
Importance of living inside or outside the cultural mainstream.
Repetition
Repeated use of sounds, words, or ideas for effect and emphasis
Alliteration
Repetition of initial consonant sounds
Text
The font and legibility of the text do not interfere with or disrupt communication of ideas to the reader in any area of the work.
Use of Literary Devices
Three devices should be used in the story.
Cover
Title and ilustration clearly related to the story and entice readers to pick up the book.
Characterization
Traits are easily identifiable. Character traits of main characters are established throughout the text.
Writing Process
order of steps in creating a piece of writing: prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, publishing
Publishing
the fifth step of the writing process: making the text ready to share with an audience.
Prewrite
the first step in the writing process: to plan, including brainstorming, outlining, or otherwise planning the ideas for an essay.
Edit
the fourth step of the writing proccess: updating a document to make changes, correct errors, and make it visually appealing.
Draft
the second step in the writing process: a preliminary version of (a text).
Revise
the third step of the writing process: refining or changing ideas or concepts in the text.
