Pageant Interview
Why do you think that people have a negative image of pageantry? With the current negative media attention about pageantry, what advice would you give someone on the fence about competing? Do you think that pageantry objectifies women? What would you say to someone that says pageantry degrades women?
Although I have always been introduced to pageants as a welcoming environment I am aware many people haven't. Through modern television it has been instilled that pageants objectify women when that is not the case at all. I would share my experiences and opportunities that I get.
Have you experienced criticism for competing in pageantry? If so, how did you handle it?
Criticism has been a popular societal response to my pageantry journey. I feel if we end the ideology by educating those not properly introduced, many people would be more open to the idea.
Where do you want to go to college? (Teens) What do you want to study in college? (Teens)
For many years I have wanted to go to Florida state university just because it is a very interesting college and is located in a more tropical environment with many opportunities and events.
What is your dream job? What do you want to do for a living?
Growing up I had always wanted to be a teacher. I know that I want to be able to help kids that really need it or are struggling through things they don't deserve.
Have you ever been bullied? If so, how did you handle it?
I have been bullied actually, but I truly do believe that some kids and especially ones that become bullies have problems with themselves or have been treated similarly. I was not one to be hateful at a young age and later I became friends with those people.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What goal do you want to have achieved when you are older?
In the future years, I would love to see myself in Florida state university studying to be a teacher or veterinarian.
Tell us about your biggest weakness. What is your biggest flaw?
My biggest weakness or flaw is probably my social anxiety. I do try to push through my thoughts but sometimes it can be very hard to not worry about others opinions of me.
What will be the first thing you eat after the pageant? What's the first thing you will do after the pageant is over?
The absolute first thing I will probably do after the pageant would be going to a local restaurant with some friends and family.
Do you think technology is hurting personal relationships? Is technology hurting our communication skills? Is social media bringing people together or causing separation? Is texting hurting our communication skills?
While I do not think modern technology hurts personal relationships or our communication skills and even expands our opportunities for connections, I could also see that our technology evolution pushes for less in-person communication.
What is your biggest fear?
my biggest fear is definitely bugs. I will run at any type of insect whether it is a spider a moth.
How do you handle peer pressure? Tell us about a time when you had to overcome peer pressure to do the right thing
peer pressure is a very dangerous thing in todays society and as we see it more with younger people such as myself it is very hard to stand up for yourself in fear of judgment but you have to find what fits your beliefs and who you want to be.
What will be the first thing you do should we crown you Miss (Teen, Ms, Mrs) _____ ? What will you do if you win this title?
the first thing I would do if given the title, would probably be working with my friends and coaches or even just my mom and get to work on future projects throughout my pageant journey.
