Straw Man
5. Senator Smith has proposed that spending on education should be decreased. But we obviously can't agree with his proposal to close all schools.
Accident Fallacy
6. The Constitution guarantees the freedom of assembly. So, those people who were partying on the railroad tracks should not have been removed.
Equivocation Fallacy
7. Sugar tastes sweet, and that salesperson just offered me a sweet deal on that car. So, if I buy the car, it will satisfy my sweet tooth for the day.
Appeal to Authority
8. Ted Nugent is a great guitar player and he says that people should join the NRA. What more proof do I need? Sign me up.
False Dilemma
9. Either Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL or Drew Brees is the best quarterback in the NFL. But Brady's statistics were off this year. So, Drew Brees must be the best quarterback.
Hasty Generalization
1.Maria Sharapova is a tennis player and she is Russian. Elena Dementieva is a tennis player and she is Russian. Therefore, all women tennis players must be Russian.
Affirming the Consequent
10. If Dylan goes to Europe, then he will spend a lot of money. Dylan spent a lot of money. Thus, he must have gone to Europe.
False Cause
11. Last week Mary spilled some salt. This week she broke her leg. Hence, it is obvious that her broken leg resulted from her spilling salt.
Ad Hominem
12. Stormy Daniels is a porn star who has slept with a lot of men. So, how can you possibly believe her claim that she slept with the President?
Appeal to Pity (Ad Misericordiam)
13. My shoelace broke and I stubbed my toe. Therefore, you should give me a raise.
Appeal to Ignorance
14. There is no proof that anyone in the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. Ergo, it is obvious that no collusion took place.
Begging the Question/Circular Reasoning
15. These are the best shoes, for it is obvious that they are better than all the others.
Appeal to the People (Ad Populum)
