Single strength mix

10 units per 1L (1000mL)

1 unit

1000 milliunits

Things to rememeber

- to the answer the Q you may need to convert: milli units to units. and milliunit per minute to milliter per hour. - find out how many milliunits are in each ml - determine rate in ml/min - multiply by 60 minutes to get ml/hr

Example: Order for 20 milliunit/min Available: 10 unit/ L

-> 10units = 10,000 milliunit/L ----> 10units * 1000= 10,000 milliunits (conversion) -> Divide by 1000 to get your milliunit per milliliter (10 milliunit/ml) -> Solve for milliunit/min (20mu/min) Set up like this: ----> 10 mu/ml = 20mu/xml ----> cross multuply: 10x= 20 ----> divide by 10: x= 2ml/min= 20mu/min -> convert to ML/HR ----> there are 60min in an hour- multiply 2ml/min by 60. ----> 120ml/hr= 20mu/min

Remember

-> solve for mu per ml -> solve for ml/min -> solve for ml/hr

Order: 16mu/min Available: 10u/500ml - How many mu are in each ml? - How many ml/min are needed for 6mu/min to be delivered? - How fast do you set the pump in ml/hr to infuse desired amount?

1. 10u x 1000= 10,000 milliunits/ 500ml -> 20 mu/ml 2. 20mu/ml = 16mu/ xml -> cross multiply: 20x = 16 -> x = 0.8ml/min 3. 0.8 multiplied by 60 -> 48 ml/hr

Order: 6mu/min Available: 10u/500ml - How many mu are in each ml? - How many ml/min are needed for 6mu/min to be delivered? - How fast do you set the pump in ml/hr to infuse desired amount?

1. 10u x 1000= 10,000 milliunits/ 500ml -> 20 mu/ml 2. 20mu/ml = 6mu/ xml -> 20x= 6mu -> x = 0.3 ml/min 3. 0.3 multiplied by 60 = 18 ml/hr
